Hayden's™ was founded on one simple premise- to create a visual magazine that's entirely focused on the work itself. Hence, Hayden's™ is free of any advertising within the magazine itself. Creating the magazine has been a labor of love. All artists have contributed freely. We hope you enjoy viewing and interacting with our magazine and podcasts.
Exploring the Creative Impulse: Hayden's ™launched in 2008 with four artists, one feature interview and three spotlights on companies. Its name was simple - Elf Productions Magazine.
A Journey Through Time: In our second issue, we re-branded into Hayden's™, giving the magazine an identity of its own. We also introduced an interview with a cinematographer.
Delving Deeper: Our third issue continued the tradition of an interview with a visual artist and regular contributors, Ellyn Maybe, Jeff Scher and Jan Manon. We also included a travel journalism section "Wanderlust" headed by Andrew Stowe.
Light and Dark: After a long break of three years, we came out with our next issue, "Light and Dark," our most beloved issue of all time with over 25,000+ active readers. This issue introduced the botanical artwork of Macoto Murayama, known for his exquisite works with Panasonic and the dramatic landscape photography of Vladimir Donkov, Vertical Shot. It also featured an in-depth interview with Sven Sauer, renowned digital matte painter, whose work in Game of Thrones went on to win an Oscar the same year.
Places and Spaces: Our fifth issue "Places and Spaces" introduced architecture and design with Studio Olafur Eliasson. We also added a Facebook community page.
Other Worlds: We launched our new Hayden's Magazine website on December 15, 2013. Our issue "Other Worlds" debuted December 17. This was the first year we created print issues as a thank you gift to contributors for their participation. This issue showcases the work of 18 gifted artists and NASA. Other Worlds features awe-inspiring works by landscape photographer James Appleton, digital artist Justin Maller and photographer Benoit Courti.
Fluid Motion - In our 2014 issue "Fluid Motion," we introduced music with an in-depth interview with the very talented Icelandic musician, Ásgeir. Our second feature artist was Alberto Seveso, ink and water visual artist extraordinaire. Our issue also featured heartfelt dance photography by Beau Saunders and inspiring works by both regular contributors and new artists.
In 2015, we started the process for Stardust™, our Hayden's Podcast series. We've recorded our first podcast with the British band Slowdive. Hayden's™ is also being featured as an interactive exhibit in select galleries in the United States and Europe (Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the U.K.) from 2015 through 2017.
Courage - Our annual web issue in July 2017 features notable visual artists including Mikko Lagerstadt, animal photographer Lukas Holas, a feature interview with beloved musician Conor O' Brien of the Villagers, and many more wonderful artists. Our global community has now grown past 9 Million subscribers! Thank you!
We have been continuing our interactive exhibit, with new shows scheduled for 2019. Hayden’s News also is available in our new Elf newsletter and Apple News channel.
Stardust™ - We are very happy to share our new podcast Stardust will be available in 2022 featuring interviews and music by emerging and established musicians, old and new! We’re also sharing in-depth interviews with cinematic storytellers — directors and cinematographers.
